About me:
I am an accredited child and adolescent psychotherapist and a member of the UK Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) with more than 10 years of experience working in private practice and in the NHS, where I currently hold a senior position in a CAMHS setting. It has been a privilege and joy for me to support children, young people and families across a wide range of difficulties and life circumstances, working together through times of low mood, anxiety, anger or painful thoughts, relationship issues, trauma or loss, or going through the process of assessment and diagnosis of Neurodevelopmental conditions (ASD/ADHD).
My clinical work is directed by the goals of the young people and families I am working with, and decisions are made and reviewed together to ensure they meet the needs of the person in treatment. I am committed to the ACP code of ethics relating to all issues of equality, diversity and inclusion, and regarding with utmost importance the foundation of respect, trust and the maintenance of confidentiality in treatment.
About psychotherapy:
Psychotherapy is a safe space to explore one’s thoughts and feelings, with the aim of using the treatment as a platform for development and positive change. A young person may look for psychotherapy when they have concerns about interpersonal relationships, questions about identity and belonging, or for support following difficult life experiences. Parents often seek child psychotherapy when they have concerns about their child’s emotional wellbeing, or when they are looking for different ways of understanding and helping their child.
